Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra

Architect, ETSA, Seville 1972.

Professor of Projects at this university until 1987, currently Honorary Professor and head of the Catedra Blanca international architecture practice. He was a Visiting Professor at the universities of Buenos Aires, Lausanne, Navarra, Syracuse N.Y., Bologna, Venice and Mendrisio, and Visiting Scholar at the Getty Center in Los Angeles.

He has taken part in many exhibitions, with particular emphasis on the 1980 and 2004 Venice Biennales, the 1988 Milan Triennale, Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris 1990, The Art Institute of Chicago 1992 and the Museum of Modern Art, New York 2006.

His many awards include the Construmat 1993 Prize, Spanish National Architecture Award 2005, ASCER 2006, the Ugo Rivolta 2008 European Architecture Award, Award of the Ibero-American Bienal 2014 and the International Architecture Awards from The Chicago Athenaeum Museum 2015 and The Plan Award 2015. His professional career has been recognized with the Arpafil Award (International Book Fair of Guadalajara, Mexico) 2006, the Andalusian Architecture Award 2007, the Grand Prix of the International Bienal of Buenos Aires 2011. He is an Honorary Member of the American Institute of Architects, AIA 2014 and he have been recently awarded with the Spanish Architecture Gold Medal 2016.
