Structure of the master’s project:

The master is built on four autonomous training modules

  

FIRST MODULE.

PUBLIC SPACE AND NATURAL RESOURCE PROTECTION. TECHNIQUES AND PROJECT DESIGN

Course 1: Energy, water, air, soil and subsoil. Natural resource protection in public space design. Architectural  aspects

Course 2: Natural resource protection. Energy, technology and use of materials

Course 3: Natural resource protection. Environmental and planning aspects

 

SECOND MODULE.

NATURAL RESOURCE PROTECTION IN DIFFERENT TYPES OF PUBLIC SPACES AND REGULATORY-ECONOMIC ASPECTS

Course 4: Public spaces, private spaces open to the public, hybrid spaces

Course 5: Natural resource protection and safety in different types of public spaces. Regulatory and economic aspects. Economic assessment and fund-raising methods.

  

THIRD MODULE.

SUSTAINABLE PUBLIC SPACES AND URBAN RENOVATION STRATEGIES – WORKSHOP

 Course 6: Workshop project. Public spaces and urban renovation strategies

Course 7: Public spaces and urban renovation strategies. Concepts of BIM_ Building Information Modeling, of LEED classification for open spaces, of climatic simulations with programs such as ENVI-met.

  

FOURTH MODULE.

INTERNSHIP AND THESIS

A three-hundred hour internship is foreseen, in a national or international company or professional firm which develop projects related to urban scale or to infrastructure and services. It will be also possible to do the internship at the technical office of a public institution. The student will also develop a final thesis.
